The CIA in Central America

The Iran-Contra "investigation" into Oliver North's massive drug-trafficking operation was never intended to be thorough. Just enough was done to make it look like they were trying to do an investigation. I was a translator for the Nicaraguan Contra in San Jose, Costa Rica while this was going on and I knew dozens of people involved, including me, who were never even approached to offer testimony about the drug-trafficking operations. When I finally discovered hard evidence that the U.S. Embassy had authorized the Contra to begin transporting cocaine to the U.S., I went to CIA political officer Nelson Nuggent in San Jose and told him about it. He tried to deny everything and allege that I was mistaken. I later traveled to the U.S. at the my own expense and told CIA agent Richard Strathern, in the CIA office in Roswell about what I had seen, thinking that they would certainly do something about it. I still can't believe that I was so naive to think that they didn't know about it. He completely denied everything and made it obvious to me that they already knew about it and that everyone there was participating in the cover-up.

    Sorry for the condition of the document but I only have photo copies now. I had the actual printout of this document but the embassy sent some guys to break into my office in Costa Rica to steal them. I had made several photo copies that day of the documents and threw the worst ones in the wastebasket. When they broke in to steal them they got the copies in my file but they didn't think to check the garbage which is where I found these copies! Luckily I read the original document several times which helps me to understand some of the words and sentences in blurry type. I will post a typed version later with the correct words and phrases to replace the blurry type.
    If you can read Spanish, you'll probably notice below that the person who wrote this letter gave enough information for him to be tracked down by an experienced investigator or someone with the proper authority. The guy says that "he is an ex U.S. Air Force office worker in the Pentagon and that his father was a Colonel in the Air Force and works in Manvers in the Pentagon (this information alone should be enough  to determine who the guy is that wrote this letter). He also mentions at the beginning that he is in prison at the moment of writing this letter. You can also see that he has approximately one million dollars hidden in overseas accounts and investments and that he was heavily involved in the Iran Contra Affair.
